Overview Of Lipoma
Lipoma is a lump form by fatty tissues which grows gradually under your skin. Lipomas are single or multiple situated between skin& underlying muscle layer. Lipomas are usually harmless. People of any age can develop lipoma, but it is rarely seen in children. It can form anywhere on the body, but it typically appear on arms, neck shoulder, thighs.
Symptoms :
- Lipomas are a fatty movable lump & soft to touch.
- It is situated under the skin & commonly appear on arms, shoulder, thighs & neck.
- Lipomas are painless but sometimes painful when they grow & press on nearby nerves.
- They are colorless & grows gradually.
- Lipoma size may vary between 1cm to 6cm.
Causes & Risk Factors Of Developing Lipoma
The exact cause is not known. Genetic factor plays a role in developing lipomas. It is most prevalent in adults between 40 to 60 years of age.
