EECP

What Is EECP?

Enhanced External Counter Pulsation (EECP) is performed as a non-invasive treatment to lower the number and intensity of angina episodes. Treatment is administered through three pairs of external inflatable cuffs that are applied around the lower legs, upper legs and buttocks. These cuffs continuously inflate and deflate between the resting period of the heartbeat and increase blood returned to the heart.

What Are The Benefits Of EECP Treatment?

  • Increased oxygen supply for the heart
  • Decrease in chest pain
  • Improved EKG response to exercise
  • Decrease in nitroglycerin use
  • Increase in energy
  • Increased exercise duration
  • Long term effects up to 2 years

ECG

What is ECG?

An electrocardiogram records the electrical signals in your heart. It’s a common and painless test used to quickly detect heart problems and monitor your heart’s health.

Electrocardiograms — also called ECGs or EKGs — are often done in a doctor’s office, a clinic or a hospital room. ECG machines are standard equipment in operating rooms and ambulances. Some personal devices, such as smart watches, offer ECG monitoring. Ask your doctor if this is an option for you.

Are There Any Risks Or Side Effects?

An ECG is a quick, safe and painless test. No electricity is put into your body while it’s carried out.

There may be some slight discomfort when the electrodes are removed from your skin – similar to removing a sticking plaster – and some people may develop a mild rash where the electrodes were attached.

An exercise ECG is performed under controlled conditions. The person carrying out the test will carefully monitor you, and they’ll stop the test if you experience any symptoms or start to feel unwell.

ECG Test

  • An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a medical test that detects heart problems by measuring the electrical activity generated by the heart as it contracts.
  • A doctor may recommend an ECG for people who may be at risk of heart disease because there is a family history of heart disease, or because they smoke, are overweight, have diabetes, high cholesterol or high blood pressure.
  • A doctor may also recommend an ECG for people who are displaying symptoms such as chest pain, breathlessness, dizziness, fainting or fast or irregular heartbeats.
  • The ECG is a safe and non-invasive procedure with no known risks.

2D ECHO

What I s 2D ECHO?

2D echocardiography, also known as 2D echo, is a non-invasive investigation used to evaluate the functioning and assess the sections of your heart. It creates images of the various parts of the heart using sound vibrations, and makes it easy to check for damages, blockages, and blood flow rate.

What Does The 2D Echo Test Detect?

2D Echo is done to detect the following heart conditions:

  • Any underlying heart diseases or abnormalities
  • Congenital heart diseases and blood clots or tumours
  • Malfunctioning of the heart valve
  • Abnormality of blood flow within the heart
